This may be a humorous example of a daily life of any first/third generation Asian child, but it also shows the decay of the American working world and the horrible position of the American economy, in which most college graduates in any major besides business are forced to move out of state to inner-country rural areas or, if they opt to stay in heavily populated area, work more than two jobs just to support a small family. The whole concept of "climbing up the business/social ladder" is no more, as the rich become richer and the poor stay there.
