Hanon makes you type faster

Trying to go up and down on the keyboard really fast and strengthen my fingers with Hanon piano exercises makes me feel like I can type faster. As for piano, I'm too n00b to notice a difference as of now, as I just started practicing that a little again since I killed my nails and guitar became more difficult. I'm still playing guitar too... ...its more fun that studying... ...and I'm pretty much done with studying. Too bad bro isn't :( I don't want to distract him so I am not playing now.

I also took down the PreCal study guide... because there were numerous errors. I should have checked more before I posted... but Oh well, I'm sure if you actually studied the sheet you identified the errors. Okay Alan out!

Finals Week

So all my hard finals are over... ...all that's left is English, which shouldn't prove too difficult. Here's a pic I made after I finished the chem final and then went over in GIMP, unfinished of course, like everything else I do :)

Classical Guitar Without Nails

So I was clipping my nails for shape yesterday, and I messed up, so I
took them all off. Now I have horrible tone, can play faster, and can't
play for as long without my fingers hurting. On the positive side, I
can play piano, and I guess I'm learning to refine technique.

Back to taking notes for debates.

I strongly dislike turnitin.com right now.

Turnitin.com is annoying. I don't like redoing papers. Most people don't. Turnitin.com has a knack for taking multiple vague similarities to other pages and bringing them together to make it look like I'm cheating. Its much easier to write a paper than to plagiarize from 30 different sources. Another thing: How many different ways can you write some things? Yet another thing: When I write my notes, I write the title of the section I'm writing on. Turnitin.com has a habit of calling this copying too. I understand that it is in a way, but if you're taking notes in an outline type format, most people write down the title of what they're doing so its better organized. ughh..

So right now, I'm doing the PERSIA(G) Graphic organizer... ...but doing
it with really simple HTML and making it into a website, because I
thought it'd be easier than just doing it in OpenOffice or whatever...
So once I upload it all put a link up here... However I probably won't
finish it until the day before its due since its quite extensive.

Testing Post

Today it is Friday.
After school, which was school, I visited the Tustin Market Place and then went ice skating. It was a lot more fun than homework. Later this weekend I will have to do homework. Later in my life I'll have to get a job and do more work. Zzz... It makes me tired. Oh well, I wouldn't be content with no work either... ...I guess it makes not working seem nicer. Have a fun weekend everyone :)

But other than that, I suppose that's a good thing. Makes it easier to floss...

Hi All! Boohoo... my weekend is almost over :( I went to sleep like at 6 or 7 yesterday because I was feeling sick, meant to be a nap... but it wasn't. Anywho, I was working on the greeting card for the impending due date of the 15th... much to my dismay I haven't been able how to get a background image or sky dome working with Yafray, so I might be stuck using the internal render shown below... I was playing the lighting a big, so here is a slightly regressed final image:




The brightness of the colors in the other pictures we due to post production editing in GIMP, so its a lot brighter and more saturated.

On the other note, I took some photographs while my mom and bro were in trader joes. Here are some of the highlights of my little trip:










Since its the weekend, I got to do some good guitar playing. I might record something soon if I get the time, probably some final fantasy song or something, because besides that I've just been playing simple studies, and trying to figure out Over the Rainbow and a version of Canon I found on youtube... Work in Progress: Greeting Card

Still working on the greeting card... Here's a work in progress for anyone who's interested. Then I'm back to logarithms <3333math.... and Python for the win! It makes math homework a lot more fun. Okay, just checking in for now! :D

New Camera

So, I got my new camera today (Lumix DMC-FZ18) and I was taking some pics. Here's one I thought that came out particularly well.

Tests are Scary

Small monthly/weekly tests and quizzes are frightening enough. PSAT is a little big more frightening. Then there's the SAT.
I don't feel like taking SAT classes, but I'll probably have to.
Goodness Gracious! I have little motivation to study for these tests, aside from college entrance, and possibly a small degree of acquiring "test taking skills" these tests seem to be rather useless besides lowering my self esteem and making me even more competitive. Oh well! Just checking in!

Okay so here's what I'm working on now, for the Gallery Collection Create-A-Greeting-Card scholarship contest. Obviously one has more colors that the other. I'm not sure which way to go yet. I'm still adding details, like wires on the ornaments etc, maybe a background. Off to school :(

So... today I got a camera battery in the mail, an extra for the camera I ordered a few days ago. The funny thing is I don't have the camera yet. Yay! I got a battery I can't use. Hahaha! What a loser. :D

Today at school was pretty nice. It was fun to see everybody's tired Monday faces and greet people with hyper-exuberance. I got some cool stuff today too, Jeffrey gave me an FF7 cellphone chain thing and Jessica gave me the flute proficiency 1 solo so I can fail through it. In art class I found out I placed some honorable mention in some contest, and I got a fair amount of work done in the class. No girls slapped me in the face or anything and I didn't forget to do homework or anything, so all in all its been a good day so far. :D cheers! I'll report in later if homework grows too dull.

Bittersweet Conclusion of Winter Break

Hi all! Well today is the last day of winter break. I had a smashing time- Yosemite, not-doing-homework, quality family time and such. Probably a good experience overall. But now I feel the impending doom of school falling upon me.

It was quick, but it was fine
It was fast, but it was nice
Winter break is ending

A relaxing respite
A brief break

Yesterday, I ordered my camera. I decided on a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18 for its SLR/Point-and-Shoot like hybrid qualities and good reviews, and wielding the power of Amazon.com, got it for $10 cheaper in Silver than in Black.

Our friend pi, 3.14..., is equal to circumference/diameter.

I might be a nerd, but I never thought of that and found it somewhat interesting. Math homework packet! Fun :)

I'm looking into purchasing a digital camera for mainly artistic purposes, photography in general and taking pics of artwork and stuffs, and general things like friends and family. My budget is around $350 I'd say, but rather flexible. I'm looking at the Canon Powershot a650 IS in particular
